Apple Updates List of Vintage and Obsolete Products
Apple has recently updated its list of vintage and obsolete products, which includes several older iPhone and iPad models.
iPhone 6 Plus Labeled Obsolete
Apple has announced that the iPhone 6 Plus has been classified as obsolete worldwide, indicating that Apple Stores and authorized service providers will no longer offer repairs or other hardware services for the device.
Typically, Apple identifies products as obsolete seven years after they were last sold.
iPhone 6 Plus (A Former Flagship)
The iPhone 6 Plus was originally released by Apple in September 2014 and was discontinued in September 2016. This model was once a top-selling mobile device, particularly in China.
In terms of software support, Apple ended support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with the release of iOS 13 in 2019.
Other Obsolete and Vintage Products
Apple has also listed the fourth-generation iPad mini as a vintage product, indicating that it has been discontinued for over five years.
Additionally, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have been labeled as vintage products.
